Cala d'Hort Beach
Cala d'Hort may well be one of the most photographed beaches in Ibiza. Located on the west coast a little further south from Cala Vadella & Cala Carbo. This horseshoe shaped bay looks directly to Es Vedra - the rock which may well have inspired the 1980's blockbuster film Close Encounters of the 3rd kind (ask you grand parents !)
There are 3 restaurants located round the bay & overlooking the beach, sea and "magnetic" rock of Es Vedra:
Es Boldero has a separate access road but can also be reached from the beach and passing along the fishing huts, or by boat and access the restaurant up a number of steps, but the view is worth the effort.
The beach stretches about 400 metres and is part sand and part pebble.
You can hire a boat to explore the area around Es Vedra and do some snorkeling.
Parking spaces are limited so finding somewhere to park is an issue. There are a limited number of spaces, although you can pay to park about 300 metres from the beach for about €5. Our recommendation would be to get there early, take a taxi from Sant Josep or Es Cubells or go by scooter… but don't miss out... and stay for sunset... you will be glad you did as the views are picture postcard perfect.
