Cala Vadella / Cala Vedella beach
Cala Vadella is situated on the west coast of Ibiza. About 10 minutes from San Jose (Sant Josep) village and about 25 minutes from Ibiza Town.
This is a family friendly resort popular with families and coupled of all ages who what to enjoy a sandy beach resort in Ibiza but not necessarily be in the heart of the nightlife
There aren't really any hotels in Cala Vadella, mostly this is an area with villas dotted in the hills around the bay, and again many having a prime location for the infamous sunset during the summer months.
There are sun loungers which you can hire for about €12 per day, with a beach service on offer from the beach side restaurants or you can plonk yourself on the beach for free !
This is a beach that, in our opinion, doesn't ever feel overly busy…we have yet to see any "beach hawkers" selling things you probably don't need or want
The beach at Cala Vadella (Cala Vedella) shelves gently and a large barrier style buoy clearly marks the area for safe swimming for children & adults.
There are quite a few restaurants located around the 275 metre
long horseshoe shaped bay and most offering spectacular sunset
views during the summer months with dining options ranging from
snacks & pizzas to traditional dining beachside. The
restaurants include:
- Cana Sofia
- Bon Sol
- Maya beach Club
- Jaume Restaurante
- Vadella Beach Bar
- Maria Lucia
In the summer months there are a number of activities you can
join in with at the beach
- Learn how to build a sandcastle
- Hire a pedalo
- Buy a snorkel & mask from the local shop and explore life
under the surface
- Try Stand up paddle board as the bay is protected on both sides
and therefore often devoid of too many waves
- Rent a boat without a skipper
- Take the "Aquabus" tourist to the beautiful sister island of
Formentera
- Relax in the sun & build up your tan
- Enjoy a spectacular sunset from the each
- Take a sunset cruise for a different experience
Parking at any of the smaller Ibiza beaches can be a bit tricky,
particularly in July & August but there is a small car park
opposite the beach for about 125 cars.
There are few shops in Cala Vadella, just a Spar style convenience store and a couple of other shops mainly selling beach clothes & things, but you can head along the coast or to Ibiza town for shopping.
Cala Vadella is a quiet resort so you can expect by midnight that most restaurants will be starting to close.
