RURAL VILLAS - AWAY FROM IT ALL HOLIDAY HOMES IN IBIZA
Staying in central & rural Ibiza is a chance to really hide yourself in the beautiful countryside, to get away from the crowds and appreciate Ibiza for the very pretty island that it is. As agrotourism and staying in a rural hotel has become such a popular (and dare we say cool) way to enjoy Ibiza, so has renting a villa far from the madding crowds. Chilled days, but restaurants and nightlife available within a 20 minute drive - surely the best of both sides to Ibiza?
San Rafael is not perhaps the most exciting town with a main road and a some restaurants but the close proximity to Ibiza Town (10 to 15 minutes) and the beaches (and sunsets) of the west coast make this a great location... in less than 1 kilometres from the centre of San Rafael you will be in the lush green farmland driving down narrow country lanes
Santa Agnes is a tiny village with just a café and a restaurant, and roads that are just screaming out to be explored, even if you're not sure where they lead to. It's all part of the fun of losing yourself in the middle of nowhere. Better still hire a bike and really get back to nature, spring is an amazing time to see the beauty of the island.
San Mateo (San Mateu) is another small village a crossroads, bar and shop. Park the car, order a coffee, or something stronger and just relax Ibiza style. Nearby are some amazing simple restaurants that are definitely worth exploring. In December the village welcome the rest of the island to their annual wine tasting event
Santa Gertrudis is pretty much central in Ibiza and larger than the other villages in the immediate area, so for many offers the perfect combination of a cool and relaxed village life with a wide choice of restaurants ranging from traditional to modern, some located around the pretty square with its white washed church…and when you want to a bit more life then Ibiza is only a 15 minute drive away.
San Lorenzo, located between Santa Gertrudis and San Joan, about a 10 minute drive from Santa Gertrudis. A church, an amazing alfresco restaurant and, without being unkind, not much else...but the charm is the size and the location, with the village surrounded by farmland.
